Application and Selection Process

E²'s application process for social entrepreneurs is very intensive and highly competitive. E² seeks to fund exceptional organisations that will have the highest potential to deliver significant impact in the areas of poverty alleviation and job creation.

The application and selection process consists of four phases:

  1. Online Pre-Application Questionnaire
    All prospective applicants are required to complete an online questionnaire that will screen out prospective applicants based on their alignment with E²'s eligibility criteria. Only applicants that obtain a satisfactory score on the pre-application questionnaire will be invited to submit a detailed online application.
  2. Online Application
    The online application is a comprehensive template to be completed by qualifying applicants, and allows for additional information to be uploaded via the internet. Eligible applications will be reviewed and scored by E²'s selection committee. Based on these scores, a shortlist will be compiled.
  3. Due Diligence
    Short listed applicants will be required to participate in a due diligence process to determine which organisation or organisations will be awarded funding.
  4. Selection
    Based on the outcomes of the due diligence process, one or more organisations will be selected as recipients of funding from E².
