Malik Fal is a Franco-Senegalese professional based in Johannesburg since 2003 with his South African family. He is a broadly-exposed business leader having grown up in Francophone Africa, schooled in Europe, and trained in the US (Babson College & Harvard).
Malik built a strong business foundation in the early stages of his career; through roles in Operations (PepsiCo for 6 years) and Strategy (Monitor Group for 8 years). Later, Malik got the opportunity to extend his experience in the tech investment space with a series of Pan-African roles at Microsoft (Africa COO), Endeavor (South Africa MD), Omidyar Network (Africa MD), and now E Squared (Board of Trustees and executive role). Malik has a passion for ‘beneficial knowledge’ and as such has been involved in various related initiatives; he co-authored a book of essays entitled “In the River They Swim” on enterprise solutions to poverty, was part-time faculty for more than five years for Harvard’s ‘Making Markets Work’ Africa executive program, and taught MBA elective modules on Strategy and Competitiveness at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
