Board of Trustees

E Squared’s board represents a dedicated group of experienced leaders across various sectors. Our trustees guide the organisation’s mission and strategy.

Teboho Mahuma


Teboho was appointed to the board of trustees in 2011 and shortly thereafter as chairperson. She has extensive experience in the social sector, having served in various leadership roles over the years. 
She serves as a non-executive director of Allan Gray Proprietary Limited, as well as non-executive director and trustee in a few not-for-profit entities focussed mainly on education. She holds a M.Phil in Ethics and a B.A. (Hons) in Social Work. 

Nazeem Martin


Nazeem is a founding member and Chairman of the Wallflower Group. He also served as Deputy Director-General at the National Department of Public Works in Nelson Mandela’s government. Nazeem has a BA and a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Town, and a Master of Urban Planning from the City University of New York. He also completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Ngalaah Chuphi


Ngalaah leads Ethos’ sub-Saharan Africa strategy and until very recently, he headed up the firm’s investor relations activities. His portfolio activities have been supported by over ten years of prior management consulting and project finance experience in several countries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada and an MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.

Khumo Morolo


Khumo was appointed to the board of trustees and to the board of Allan Gray Proprietary Limited as a non-executive director in 2012. She has extensive experience in the IT, engineering, electricity generation and projects environments. She was one of the founding shareholders of Torre Technologies. Khumo hold an M.Eng in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria and a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand.

Malik Fal


Malik Fal is the founder of Filao Capital Partners, and Managing Director of Filao Capital Partners Johannesburg. He has also served in various Pan African roles at Microsoft (Head of Africa Operations), and Endeavor (Managing Director; South Africa). Malik was educated in Europe and the United States, and has a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University. 

Anthony Farr


Anthony is the founding CEO of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation established in 2005. This is an education and development catalyst to assist a generation of high growth responsible entrepreneurs to bring about job creation and poverty alleviation in South Africa. Anthony is a qualified CA (SA) and a CFA after finishing his B.Business Science (Finance and Accounting) at UCT.
