Sunshine Cinema’s Spark Impact Programme sponsored by E Squared kicks off

Sunshine Cinema welcomed 20 new Spark Impact Applicants to Cape Town for a week of conversation, films, fun, exploration and training (4 April 2022). Chosen out of 300 applicants from across South Africa, participants will complete the 10-month programme which includes a 6-month online course in Impact Facilitation with The University of Cape Town’s Film Department, learning about gig work and digital marketing, hosting screenings of African films, producing podcasts, building networks of community activism.

The course kicked off with a deep dive into the Canon Inc. sponsored cameras that come with their kits, the bootcamp was launched by the energising fuel that is our board chairperson Hlubi Mboya-Arnold, and ended with a powerful screening thanks to producers Khosi Dali and Imran Hamdulay of their award-winning film Sons of the Sea – filmed not too far off in Simonstown.
